Canterbury was one of the first cities I visited after moving to London (I even found this micro post on my personal blog), so it was interesting to go back there after almost eight years. This time, the trip was with the bloggers I had previously gone to Winchester with, as part of our #OffTo project: Liliana from Catálogo de Viagens; Karine from the blog Brazuka; and Thaís from the blog Sete Mil Km. The idea of this day trip from London was not to visit absolutely all the tourist spots in Canterbury, but to enjoy the day with friends and do whatever was possible during our hours there. I’ve said many times that I love this type of trip, but I like to make it clear that it’s never the same as staying a few days in the city. We always repeat this here at Aprendiz: a destination can be enjoyed in a thousand ways, it all depends on your travel style, your time in the place, and your budget.
We arrived in Canterbury at 10:15 in the morning and returned at 6:20 PM. The train journey between King’s Cross and Canterbury West stations took an hour because we took the high-speed train (when I first went in 2009, it took almost 2 hours). We bought the tickets in advance on the thetrainline.com website, which is what I always use for this type of trip.
