The Busch Gardens in Tampa is one of the favorite parks for adrenaline enthusiasts. The park’s roller coasters are amazing and this week the 8th roller coaster was inaugurated: Cobra Curse. But for those who expected a super radical roller coaster, the Cobra Curse is a roller coaster designed for families. Children over 1.07 meters tall can enjoy the attraction and those over 1.22 meters can ride it alone!
After Nick tried the super radical Mako at Sea World, I was invited to experience the new roller coaster firsthand and Busch Gardens made a very cool video of my first ride on it. Watch the full video of this experience here:

What is Cobra Curse like
The area where the roller coaster was built has an Egyptian theme and the experience starts right in the queue. To the relief of those suffering in Florida’s hot weather, the queue is in an area with parts closed off with air conditioning. With several posters warning of the imminent danger of snakes, during the queue passage you can see the habitat of snakes, which includes the mamba-de-Jameson, Angolan python, rhinoceros viper, and Gaboon viper.
In a second area, you can also see a panel telling the story of the King Cobra, in an animation that happens several times at intervals. In the video above, you can see a bit of the show.
The boarding area has a conveyor belt and we get into the cart that is only secured by the waist.
The attraction carts have capacity for four passengers that rotate on their own axis, reaching a maximum speed of 64 km/h. The attraction can have up to eight sets of simultaneous carts with eight seats each and can take an average of a thousand passengers per hour.
The first part takes you on an elevator to the top of the roller coaster, where you come face to face with the Cobra and the adventure begins. It moves forward, backward, and spins. A delight!
The coolest part is that every time we ride on the Cobra Curse, we experience different movements because the carts spin randomly and the number of times you spin and the direction depend on the weight of the people with you in the cart.
The shop has various products related to the new attraction… I loved the shirts!!!
In the area of the Cobra Curse, there are other entertainments like the “cobras” on stilts and belly dance dancers, and you can try a special flavor of Coca-Cola freestyle, green!
It is a roller coaster that the whole family will enjoy. It is not as super radical as several others in the park like Sheikra or Falcon Fury, but it has a good dose of adrenaline and is great for those traveling with children and sometimes run out of options with the little ones.
